[Ashi can't help but be pleased and that reflects in her voice. It's sort of nice to have someone to kind of... show off? Is that the right word? She'd never had anyone like that before nor anyone to even show them too so it's a heady new sort of experience.
It's even better when Konoha talks about the dress.]
I thought maybe you would. I admit I don't know much about clothing in general but since you knew what samurai were and all it seemed like a safe bet.
[Ah she wished she had a better visual of her own outfit but... well, she didn't exactly see herself.]
Mine was all white with this hood that went over my head. And just so many other things on my head! I didn't realize there could be so many types of hair decorations!
[She doesn't know the words for the outfit but it's clear she's at least describing the wataboshi bridal hood.]
[At least, that's the custom her own village went with. With a name like that... Well, Konoha still sounds excited. A bit envious, in a way, because it sounded so very like the image of fancy weddings she had, but mostly just glad for the other woman. Considering how she'd spoken of Jack before...]
I got married the same day I asked my husband to make me his wife, so we didn't have time to make anything... my boss did throw us a little banquet, though! Definitely nothing like all those people... !
[Almost like a celebration for a whole town that a wedding... !]
[She sounds so assured on that. Jack might be more of the glutton when it came to food but Ashi had a deep appreciation for good and plentiful food herself. She just tended to be a bit more ... discerning about what she ate was all.]
Horn cover. That's an interesting name. Jack's mother didn't mention a name but then again I probably missed it.
[She sounds sheepish as she admits that. Ashi never realized just falling in love with someone and spending the rest of your life with them entailed so much stuff. By the sound of it though weddings weren't always the affairs that she perceived them to be given her very limited experience.
Then with a light laugh she further admits with absolutely no sheepishness whatsoever this time:]
I think I would have rather done it your way really. Getting married right away. It was a little frustrating waiting... well, and wearing so many things too.
[Then she could have had her time as a married woman.]
[They certainly agreed on that, at least?! Perhaps the grass is just greener on the other side.]
We had um, well... a lot of liquor... red rice... grilled fish... some rabbit... oh, some eggplant and radish, too, and my boss even managed to find some pink and white manju at the last minute, that was wonderful...
Manju, like... ah, little steamed cakes? You fill them with sweet red bean... and those colors are lucky for weddings! Well, other celebrations, too, but.
Sake is nice... I can't actually get drunk on it or anything, but when everyone's drinking it's nice to join in.
So- I hope you'll let me buy you a drink. I know it's not wonderful to be back here when you could be with your husband, but... to celebrate meeting again!

[Manju. That sounds familiar somehow. Pink and white... hm. She laughs though as she adds:]
I never drank much before I came here. I did have hot sake now and then though.
