[He says he's just been busy, so- That's not so bad! Surely he wouldn't be lying?
So, none the wiser, Konoha makes her way to the address she'd dropped the sewing off at before, carefully navigating stairs and halls not meant for centaurs per se before she arrives at the correct door.
[ It's a short moment after the knock at the door that Ignis opens it wide, shaded lenses slightly masking the way his eyes are closed. Yet Ignis answers the door with a polite smile as he opens it wide enough to allow her room. ]
Thank you for coming, please step inside and make yourself comfortable.
[ He'd offer her a seat but he doesn't think that's. Actually possible. Horse lower half and all. She may not fit on the couch, but it doesn't seem right to offer her a spot on the floor even with a pillow or blanket as a cushion. ]
[At first, she doesn't notice. After all, he opened the door so promptly, and didn't seem to behaving any problems... so she just bows in greeting before taking him up on the offer, very carefully going inside. Out of consideration, she taps her hooves best she can in the entrance way to try and get any dirt off, tail swishing beneath her skirt curiously.]
[ At least the benefit of having been in Prismatica so long is that Ignis knows the interior of the apartment pretty well by this point. He stumbles here and there, especially if anything gets put out of place, but usually he doesn't need to navigate around with his cane. He still tends to let his fingers slide against the wall on one side when he walks, just for safety reasons. ]
Thank you. It does require some work. An apartment of four men is a difficult place to keep tidy on a regular basis.
[ Especially when the one person who is most responsible for that ends up gone for a week. Thank god she wasn't here during that time. What a mess he had to come back to. At least he didn't have to see it. ]
Your attire is in the kitchen, upon the dining table. You may follow me there. Do be careful on the tile.
Four? Now I'm even more impressed... Trying to get my yard workers to clean their bunkhouse was like pulling teeth.
[She looks around with a newfound appreciation for the tidiness, genuinely surprised.]
Oh- Tile! Of course! I'll be careful.
[She really, really hoped she didn't scuff it... Which means Konoha's eyes are more on her own hooves as she follows him to the kitchen, but the closer they get... the weirder it seems to her that he's dragging his fingers along the wall... Though that's hardly something to mention.]
I really have to thank you again... I've had a lot of trouble with the clothes here...
Do trust me, all it takes is confidence and providing them the right motivation to get things done.
[ And when you're the one responsible for cooking, starving them slowly with toast every day. Maybe he can teach Konoha that skill some day. ]
I can only imagine, though I wish I could provide future assistance. I'm afraid any future sewing projects will take me a good while to complete.
[ Once the wall that separates the hallway to the kitchen is gone Ignis keeps his arm extended while he tries to find the counter. Konoha will be able to see the skirt folded on top, but it doesn't appear as if Ignis can properly reach for it, or... it's hard to tell what he's reaching for in the first place. ]
[She asks it casually at first, quite used to being the one in the conversation who doesn’t understand what’s happening or needing to clarify, but... with the way he trailed his fingers along the wall, the way he now gropes his way between it and the table...
Her brow furrows in concern, reaching out with a hand hovering and hesitating near him.]
Are you... not actually alright?
[Could he not see? Confused and concerned thinking he might need a hand, she gently placed her own against his elbow, trying fo adjust his angle towards the counter subtly as she can.
Wait- how had he gone blind between when they last spoke and now???]
[ Thankfully Ignis has gotten used to sudden contact from his friends helping him get around through the apartment and around the city whenever he insists on going outdoors, so he doesn't react to the touch, instead following the nudge so he can reach in the correct direction. He's expression softens. ]
Thank you. [ Now that his fingers brush along the fabric of the skirt, he's able to push it in what he presumes should be her direction, just from a vague assumption of where the grip at his elbow comes from. ]
I apologize. I hadn't wished to convey anything that would upset you. I'm fine, in a manner of speaking.
[ He's alive, is what he would say, but that seems too heavy to mention even when he knows he's drawn her concern. ]
When I mentioned I was debilitated... the truth is I have lost my sight.
He wouldn’t be able to see them, how her expression draws into a worried frown, thinking now that she understood why it was he was wearing such dark glasses. So it was like how the blind fortune tellers wore bandages- like how her husband hid his scarred skin and ruined eye beneath a patch.]
I- I’m so sorry, I had no idea...
[Not even thinking it could be the work of worlds or crystals, her mind runs through what has happened in the city of late, even as she thanks him for the skirt and takes it from him, still hovering in case he needed help.]
Did... Was it the foxes that made all that trouble recently? I know they kidnapped some people but I didn’t realize they’d done such things...
[ It's difficult for him to read people's voices still, to use it to help him understand what sort of expressions he is no longer able to see, but Ignis can at least surmise by the way her words hesitate, how heavy the tone is that she's concerned.
There is a shake of his head. ]
I was captured by the foxes, however they were not responsible for my condition.
[ That would be an entirely different thing to deal with in the future.
Ignis wonders how much he should share about the details of his blindness, after all, he has only spoken to Konoha once. He's not sure how well known disappearances like his are within the city, and he doesn't want to spring impossible hope upon others that there is a chance of escaping Prismatica when he doesn't know how or why he suddenly found himself in his home world. ]
I don't understand how it was possible, but I found myself in my world for a period of time. That is where it occurred.
Konoha is silent for a moment, shocked, clutching the mended skirt to her chest and trying to figure out how that was possible. No- Wait... When she'd been in the Circle, one of their members had said the same thing... That they'd slipped back into their world and yet come back to the Circle without even realizing, like it was a dream... And it's not like either of them had reason to lie to her.
But he'd come back so injured... and though she's curious, she knows it isn't her place to ask, to remind him of what surely was not a pleasant experience.]
I'm so sorry...
[What else can she say? It might not have anything to do with her, but- she's sincere in that, it's clear in her voice.]
Is... Is there anything I can help you with? You did this for me...
[ Her apology leaves Ignis a little speechless. He hasn't spoken to anyone about what happened to him, the loss of his sight, no one other than his close companions who had already known such a thing would happen. So her sincerity is... something else, nothing he's experienced. But genuine, heartfelt, and very appreciated.
It's a bit foolish, he thinks. They hardly know each other. This is only the second time they've spoken (third, if the text conversation counts). But Ignis thinks it wouldn't be terribly bad to have this sort of company. ]
You owe me nothing, I assure you. [ His smile is soft, and while he can't see her, his expression is directed toward the sound of her voice. ]
But-- [ Ignis lifts his head. ]
There is a plate on the counter here somewhere, with a clear wrapping on top. Would you bring it to me?
[Perhaps it comes from hailing from a far less kinder place than this city, where things like blindness, lameness, or illness often meant either a life of stigmatization or death... at best, to be seen as a burden.
But this world, other people's worlds, weren't like that. Still... Konoha can't help but think automatically of what she's familiar with, and it makes a state like that something she is truly sorry for.]
Still...
[She's ready to protest, but even though the task is simple... he gives her something to do.]
Okay- stay right there.
[Setting the hakama down again, she moves to the counter with careful steps, trying not to scuff the nice tile with her hooves as she searches for the aforementioned plate. Clear wrapping... this one!
Plate in hand, she comes back to his side, gently placing it against his hands and holding it there until he takes it himself.]
[ Ignis had nearly experienced something of that sort, nearly left behind for becoming a liability, a burden. A blind man is not the sort of person you bring into harrowing danger, to fight against daemons and monsters and run through a world that's falling into darkness. He should have been abandoned, but he wasn't, and he'll always be grateful yet guilty for his weakness.
Once he takes the plate, Ignis sets it down, fingers moving over the clear plastic wrap on top. There's a slight warmth underneath, a bumpy texture in odd shapes. ]
Yes, this is the one.
[ He peels back the wrapping but doesn't take it completely off, just enough to expose some of the items on the plate. ]
I'm afraid I've not yet adjusted to cooking as I used to, so I wish I could share with you something more... substantial. However my roommates have made me quite enjoy these. Please have some.
[The smell is quite nice, once he pulls back the wrapping and the aroma is able to escape into the air. Some kind of meat... chicken? Fried? Konoha sniffs noticeably enough to be audible, leaning down to inspect... the "guilty pleasure".
[ Wow Konoha rude, just because he's blind doesn't mean he's gullible!! But he can hear from the tone of her voice that she sounds very doubtful about everything he's telling her, which makes sense, since the concept of dinosaurs in and of itself is pretty bizarre. He only wishes he had better use of his communicator in this state so he could find her a picture and show it to her. ]
I do sound as if I'm spouting nonsense, don't I?
[ He's at least willing to share her humor. ]
I can't imagine trying to explain the other oddities of the world beyond your own. Perhaps I could convince Prompto to bring his Chocobo for a visit. We could introduce you to her.

He said it was a big bird- is it really?
