Konoha is silent for a moment, shocked, clutching the mended skirt to her chest and trying to figure out how that was possible. No- Wait... When she'd been in the Circle, one of their members had said the same thing... That they'd slipped back into their world and yet come back to the Circle without even realizing, like it was a dream... And it's not like either of them had reason to lie to her.
But he'd come back so injured... and though she's curious, she knows it isn't her place to ask, to remind him of what surely was not a pleasant experience.]
I'm so sorry...
[What else can she say? It might not have anything to do with her, but- she's sincere in that, it's clear in her voice.]
Is... Is there anything I can help you with? You did this for me...
[ Her apology leaves Ignis a little speechless. He hasn't spoken to anyone about what happened to him, the loss of his sight, no one other than his close companions who had already known such a thing would happen. So her sincerity is... something else, nothing he's experienced. But genuine, heartfelt, and very appreciated.
It's a bit foolish, he thinks. They hardly know each other. This is only the second time they've spoken (third, if the text conversation counts). But Ignis thinks it wouldn't be terribly bad to have this sort of company. ]
You owe me nothing, I assure you. [ His smile is soft, and while he can't see her, his expression is directed toward the sound of her voice. ]
But-- [ Ignis lifts his head. ]
There is a plate on the counter here somewhere, with a clear wrapping on top. Would you bring it to me?
[Perhaps it comes from hailing from a far less kinder place than this city, where things like blindness, lameness, or illness often meant either a life of stigmatization or death... at best, to be seen as a burden.
But this world, other people's worlds, weren't like that. Still... Konoha can't help but think automatically of what she's familiar with, and it makes a state like that something she is truly sorry for.]
Still...
[She's ready to protest, but even though the task is simple... he gives her something to do.]
Okay- stay right there.
[Setting the hakama down again, she moves to the counter with careful steps, trying not to scuff the nice tile with her hooves as she searches for the aforementioned plate. Clear wrapping... this one!
Plate in hand, she comes back to his side, gently placing it against his hands and holding it there until he takes it himself.]
[ Ignis had nearly experienced something of that sort, nearly left behind for becoming a liability, a burden. A blind man is not the sort of person you bring into harrowing danger, to fight against daemons and monsters and run through a world that's falling into darkness. He should have been abandoned, but he wasn't, and he'll always be grateful yet guilty for his weakness.
Once he takes the plate, Ignis sets it down, fingers moving over the clear plastic wrap on top. There's a slight warmth underneath, a bumpy texture in odd shapes. ]
Yes, this is the one.
[ He peels back the wrapping but doesn't take it completely off, just enough to expose some of the items on the plate. ]
I'm afraid I've not yet adjusted to cooking as I used to, so I wish I could share with you something more... substantial. However my roommates have made me quite enjoy these. Please have some.
[The smell is quite nice, once he pulls back the wrapping and the aroma is able to escape into the air. Some kind of meat... chicken? Fried? Konoha sniffs noticeably enough to be audible, leaning down to inspect... the "guilty pleasure".
[ Wow Konoha rude, just because he's blind doesn't mean he's gullible!! But he can hear from the tone of her voice that she sounds very doubtful about everything he's telling her, which makes sense, since the concept of dinosaurs in and of itself is pretty bizarre. He only wishes he had better use of his communicator in this state so he could find her a picture and show it to her. ]
I do sound as if I'm spouting nonsense, don't I?
[ He's at least willing to share her humor. ]
I can't imagine trying to explain the other oddities of the world beyond your own. Perhaps I could convince Prompto to bring his Chocobo for a visit. We could introduce you to her.

[ What's on the plate? Dinosaur nuggets. ]
I believe this is something one would refer to as a guilty pleasure.

They seemed to be... shaped like things?]
Are these... animals?
[Maybe cows? No, dogs? No... fish?]

[ How does he explain this without sounding kind of... crazy. ]
They are the equivalent of very large lizards, though it is said some have the closest relation to chickens.

[He does sound kind of crazy, though. Large lizards that are related to chickens?
Intent to try and believe him, though, she gets closer to peer at the nuggets, humming as she waits for the revelation to hit her.]
None of these... look like chickens or lizards though?
[Were his roommates lying to him because he was blind???]

S- Sorry, it's not that I don't believe you, I just... don't know about "dinosaurs"...
[Because. Yup.
It's a really good example, though, because-]
Prompto has the chocobo thing here?
[Wait did she tell him she knew Prompto? Never mind, full speed ahead.]
He said it was a big bird- is it really?
