[ She absolutely knows. Things were really chaotic, then suddenly calm and then Kureno had shown up and she'd met Lewin and gone from no apartmentmates to two and then -- well, again, very chaotic all the way up to purchasing a house this month, even. ]

Well, I'm really glad to hear that...

[She'd had four people over during the Geistnacht, trying to find her husband's spirit... and none of them had actually succeeded, it had turned out to be something she'd had to solve herself, sort of, but.

She still felt very in their debt.]

The farm is doing well! We lost a few crops to that heavy snow we had, but it bounced back fine... and Gonta is good. Healthy.

I apologize that I wasn't more help during Geistnacht, but I am glad he's properly with you again.

[ She is, not that she makes a habit of lying about such things, but that last note of Konoha's feels like something can relate to in some way these days. Just a little bit. She knows it isn't the same. ]

And speaking of crops, I had a question for you, if you don't mind?

No, please don't apologize, Miss Setsura... I'm so grateful for your efforts... A- and, apparently only um, moonlacing could bring them back in the end, so... that's my job...

[She's his wife, after all!!]

That is certainly a wife's sacred duty, hm?

[ Now that... she actually thinks about it. It probably would have never come up otherwise, but there it is. She gives her head an unseen shake. Right. ]

I was wondering what sort of vegetables the two of you grow there, actually.

That's right!

[And she comes from a conservative enough medieval period to sound... not at all ironic there. She genuinely considers it to be part of her duties alongside keeping house, raising children, preparing food... If only she was just a bit better at weaving...]

Vegetables? We grow a lot of different ones, depending on the weather! Right now we have mostly cabbage, onions, carrots, and peas in the field... and then last season's harvests in the storehouse.

[ The lack of irony is most definitely noted given how sensitive her hearing is and the fact that Setsura is a very intent listener the majority of the time, but there really isn't anything to press there. She perks at the types of vegetables mentioned, though. Might be scooting onto the edge of her seat a little, not that Konoha can see that. ]

Now that's some good variety. I don't suppose you'd have any potatoes? Although I should probably ask if you sell before anything, hm? Nothing beats farm fresh vegetables.

Oh, we do!

[Sell, that is. Even with four stomachs between the two of them, they couldn't eat everything they grew... not when their harvests were bountiful as they were thanks to... honeymoon levels of moonlacing providing nearby fertilizer.

So they sell for cheap, that's a plus???]

They're from the storehouse, not the field, but we have potatoes! And once the snows let up, we'll have fresh ones, too.

[ Cheap is a plus, just wait until she hears. Even though Chroma isn't an issue for her given how regularly she Moonlaces with Lewin and certain others, she's still mindful of the price of things and shamelessly chases the best deals. A person doesn't retain wealth by mindlessly spending, after all, but oh, to hear she's got potatoes? She doesn't hide the grin in her voice.

That's a bingo. A certain someone is very fond of fries, after all. ]

Well, you can't beat farm fresh ingredients and all of those sound like things I can do quite a lot with. What sort of prices would we be talking?

Well, it's not like we need the money, so for a small bag... just [a slightly lower price than you'd expect to find at market]? A bit less, if you want to buy in bulk!

[She'd make them a bit cheaper, but she doesn't want to be too rude to her Prismal farmer neighbors...]

I knew I was right to call you.

[ That price is like music to her ears. There's nothing quite like a good bargain. ]

I normally try to buy for the week unless the moons are about. I'll have to take a look at the size of the bags before I can give you an answer there. Maybe I could stop by later? If you're free, of course.

[Judging by the background noises... she might be rummaging in that storehouse she mentioned.]

Are you on your way? I can meet you at the house!

[ There's the sound of everyday suburban life on this end. Someone is definitely on the move. ]

I am. It shouldn't take me too long to get there. It doesn't look like the foot traffic is too bad today. I didn't catch you at a bad time, did I?

Not at all! Just digging through the storehouse!

[And as promised... there’s a certain lady centaur of the house waiting out front when Setsura makes her way there, ready with a wave once she spots the other woman coming.

Are those sacks of potatoes piled up by the door? Yes they are.]

[ Surely Konoha has seen one of those combination bow-waves before? If not, she's in for a treat because that is what Setsura is executing in greeting as she approaches. Are those... whole sacks of potatoes piled by the door? She brightens, beams even. ]

[Bow-waving is just efficient! Konoha’s wave amount has increased a lot since coming to Lunatia, since it would surely be seen as disrespectful to anyone of higher rank than her... and outside the lumber yard where she’d clawed her way to foreman, most everyone was a higher rank than a peasant jinba.

But here people liked it a lot, and she’d grown to as well- though a bow still follows.]

Not at all! There’s always something to do to keep your hands busy on a farm.

[Going to the sacks, she pulls one potato from two different sources, coming up with one vibrant Japanese potato and one more Western spud, holding them up with a purse of lips.]

I wasn’t sure which type of potato you wanted, though... I’m used to these but some people like these pale ones...

[chichichi]

[ Always something to do on a farm, hm? If that isn't true. Upon seeing those different potatoes, though, she pauses and cants her head to the side. Well, that's... ]

I'm used to that one, too, for the most part.

[ She points at that vibrant Japanese potato. ]

But for that particular dish, it's probably this one.

[ Fries. She's thinking fries because Lewin really likes fries and whatever else she's got going on in her head about him, she does like doing little things that make him happy. She points at the Western spud only to pause, thinking. ]

Maybe I should try both. I'm sure I can definitely make some delicious things with them in either case.

[ And... she can do a trial run? See what sort of fries Lewin prefers, what else she can do with them in some other things. ]

[Konoha holds up each potato when it’s pointed to as if it might have just won something, but in the end... both is a good answer? She likes both!]

What particular dish?

[She can’t help but ask out of sheer curiosity though, even as she turns to put the potatoes back in their respective sacks.]

I’ve definitely eaten some really good new things here I just never thought to do at home....

French fries. Have you ever tried them?

[ If Konoha hasn't, well, Setsura will just have to fix that. Since she's giving her a good deal, she certainly doesn't mind the idea. ]

[French fries... French fries... It sounds so familiar that Konoha has to wrack her brain a moment, sure she’s heard it before...]

[With a little moment of eureka, she straightens up sans potatoes to gesture with her hands.]

Are those the, um... the potatoes that are fried in salty little sticks?

[chichichi]

Yes, that's right.

[ She nods. ]

There are lots of different ways to make and prepare them, too. You can even have them straight or curly, but curly fries are very different from regular fries. Some people also like them better if you leave the skin on them.
