[ he is, suddenly, touched that she's so casually and intuitively incorporated this thing about him into her emoji pidgin, and unlike some robots, Simon is uncomplicatedly in favor of feeling mushy and understood. ]
Are you busy today? I was thinking we could hang out, if you want.
I'm happy for you. Tell me about it when I get there.
[ he totally isn't thinking about how Konoha probably literally bought a farm with all the marital sex she's having, and if he was, it would be the fault of Prismatica's sex-werewolf forces and its obsession with surprise illustrated sex manuals. anyway. FRIEND DATE. ]
[ a short while later, surprise! It's ya boy, extra spooky for the Geistnacht season. He's kind of a spectacle, what with the colossal metal antlers. The dendritic, (mostly) symmetrical structure of pointed prongs is definitely that of antlers, but the material is twisted, segmented black steel fused with half-formed mechanical structures. There are bits that look sleekly intentional, and more that are lumpen or craggy with strange, jutting crystalline chunks and plugs and tubes feeding into themselves.
It's the same stuff that 'grew' in eerie little whorls on Simon's "old clothes", as are the luminescent barnacle-things scattered over the gargantuan horns in various sizes and arrangements (and, at the moment, not particularly glowy). All of it's simply bigger. It's in "incompatible with doorways" territory.
That mess is directly above a pair of ears. They're fuzzy. They're a dark, Roosevelt elk brown. They're swiveling in constant background vigilance.
Well, this is definitely not crowded... and it's very Konoha? ]
[The plot of land, nestled between two Prismal farms (the same two Konoha and Gonta had worked for, and relied on for help navigating Lunatian business practices), is verdant, but... chroma apparently also made things grow, so. ... Mm. Yes. We won't talk about how.
Konoha always has something to do, she likes staying busy, and with Iris rising in the sky... she's been cooking. Just in case she gets a little too distracted once the fuller moon's affects come into play. When she hears someone nearby from the half finished farmhouse she wipes her hands on her apron and trots out to see if it's Simon...
And it is. Sort of?]
Simon?
[Surprised to see the antlers on his head, having... weirdly expected him to not show moonblessings, since his body was... well, not so much human, Konoha's eyes widen and she's left blinking in shock, not sure what to say. He seemed to not like any attention drawn to the whole... not so much human thing, so should she even say something? The antlers were... really big, though, even if they weren't freakishly mechanical but not, so... it would be weird not to mention it, wouldn't it???
Finally,]
You're Iris, too?
[Falls out, her own coat no longer a dark bay but instead a tawny doe brown, her hooves split like a deer rather than a horse.]
[ He's already started inspecting the place when she greets him. The ears have, unlike what his brain has tried to do with the rest of his body and the Simon blueprint it valiantly attempts to conform it all to, seemingly come with their own unproblematic skillset. Without them, he probably would have responded by being startled by the sound of her voice; instead they dish toward her and he looks her up and down— ]
Konoha. Uh, yeah... I guess everybody gets something.
[ He hadn't even thought about Konoha having a moonblessing, really. Maybe it just seemed redundant. But. ] The spots suit you.
[ Angela's told him the nitty gritty about the effects of Iris, but he periodically forgets them because it doesn't sound like it has anything to do with him, even though he wouldn't have thought deer parts would either and she's assured him she has a purely-A.I. robot friend who gets horny. But yeah. Deer freckles, though. ]
[Because sorry about it Simon, but... He kind of was the person she would have named if asked "who wouldn't manifest a moonblessing?". Him and Connor... But now Connor was gone. And she can't let herself remember that, so she just smiles instead, scratching a bit behind an ear.]
I didn't think I would change either, since I'm already... you know, but. I guess you're right...
[When she'd first arrived the idea of growing rabbit ears or tentacles or scales had been so overwhelmingly odd... she's grateful in the end that her changes were... equine adjacent. Her hand falls to her coat and scratch then at the faint spots there, weirdly embarrassed by them in the sense that... was Lunatia calling her a baby?]
Are those horns heavy? They look really cumbersome...
[ Spots may be for fawns... but Konoha is as close a person as Simon's ever met to a sentient freckle, so it makes some kind of weird sense to him. ]
They give me headaches, but the ears aren't so bad. [ he scratches at the base of one. ] I can feel them — I mean, real, outside sensation. Makes being like this a little less claustrophobic... if that makes sense.
[ It probably doesn't, since his bodily situation is so bizarre and specific, but Simon's already moved on to pacing around her, staying within earshot but cranking up to look at the place with something like awe. It's not what he expected from a half-finished farm, not that he's any kind of expert. ]
[Maybe she's overthinking it, but... those were flesh and blood ears, right? On his... not flesh and blood head? But if he he says he likes them... Her smile turns a bit brighter, finishing wiping her hands on her apron.]
Then I'm really glad.
[Stepping down off the veranda, Konoha watches him look around, remembering the little bit of his "Canada" that she'd seen... how big the city was, and how clean and flat the "park" was.]
Ehe... We've been working [or something] really hard... and the Prismals said Moonblessed grow things better and faster, so...
[ Simon "I hate this body even though it's the only available vessel for my brain... but Angela gives real good ear rubs so these animal parts are ok I guess" Jarrett: a man of contradictions. For a long moment he stares off into space, basking in being able to both see and feel the sun on 5% of his body. Which is exactly why he can't afford a farm. ]
I have, but farmland was pretty out of the way from where I was. [ And now there's none, a thought that he — as always — keeps at bay by waving around a flaming torch at the encroaching, circling Reality and hoping to god Reality doesn't figure out that he doesn't know how to use it.
He looks back at her, and isn't sure if she's red from the compliment or, uh, welp. ]
Was I supposed to know you're married? [ Simon probably wouldn't ask if the answer didn't seem to be no... at least, not before some kind of post about it? Which definitely doesn't sound like 'other you knew about this'. ]
[That's right. A hand flies to her somewhat red cheeks as if she could somehow contain the warmth of her blush or keep it from growing, but... she's also smiling a little, unable not to when thinking of the husband she'd surprised him with having. That she'd... surprised herself with having?]
I didn't even know I was married until he arrived here and told me...
[Which... okay, she knows she needs to think of a better way to explain this, but.]
I mean- He's from a few months "ahead" of me, in our world... apparently? And- I loved him from before, it's not like he's a stranger and I just randomly believed him or anything...
