( She figured as much, yes. Farming types were always early to rise and get their work done. )
Of course; it's been a little bit since we've last seen each other, so I thought I should check in. And wine is a fermented alcohol made with grapes— I suppose similar to sake? With a fruitier flavor.
Tonight would be perfect. Would you like to have a bit of a picnic in the Groves? It's nice to drink under the stars.
( Little of Column A, little of Column B, honestly. But mostly she just wants to see someone that seems to have known her before and thought they were friends. They are now, again, at least. And friends see each other! )
A couple glasses is usually enough to get tipsy and that's just a portion of a bottle, so it should be plenty, even with a larger mass. ( Angela you have no idea. ) I can get a couple more in other styles just to be sure, and so you can try them if you don't like this one. There are inexpensive ones.
( Not that Angela will buy them, psshhhh. She has plenty of money. )
Hmmm, I was already going to bring some other fruits, cheeses, and chocolate; I'm not sure what else you could bring that's easy to eat similarly. If you feel like having anything to snack on, please feel free to bring it along as well.
( She's Japanese, isn't she? Angela's not too familiar with what sorts of foods would go well with wine when her experiences have mostly been whatever a sushi restaurant serves around the world and some little modern candies Genji had mentioned and shared with her. )
Do you know how to share a location? I can come to a meadow close to you, let's say around sunset?
[But the only thing she knew from her own world strong enough to get a jinba drunk was akebi liquor, and akebi... could literally kill a horse, so.
Still! She's not going to just not go because she doesn't think she can get drunk properly! Besides, Angela will need some help getting home, maybe? So it all works out!]
I'll see what I have on hand, then! Maybe some pickles...
[The less glamorous of Japanese foods, but...]
Ah, I think I do... It's the one with the flag picture, right? I can manage that one!
( Angela will hope, then, that it will be enough to help her relax at the very least. But Konoha mentions pickles and it's difficult to imagine, going with wine, but she smiles and will give it a go regardless. She remembers Japanese pickled vegetables were a touch different; perhaps it will work better than she thinks.
And as far as a designated driver, she'll be all right! Angela also has difficulties getting drunk because of her nanites filtering her system. The best she can hope for is tipsy for fifteen or twenty minutes, if she drinks fast enough. )
Yes, the one with the flag picture. Then you'll be able to select my picture from your contacts to send me. I can see where you are and pick somewhere nearby.
[Two ladies who have a lot of trouble getting drunk walk into a field...
Because right around sunset, there's a ping on Angela's device from Konoha's, complete with location of the land where she and her husband were working on building their small farmstead.
And when Angela returns the location for them to meet, Konoha will arrive at a lazy trot, her hands full of snacks because... she couldn't decide what she thought would go well with foreign wine. Pickled radish? Dried squid? Roasted gingko nuts?
( She picks the nearest meadow closest to one of the many creeks running through the groves and blanket already set out with her spread of cheeses and fruits and chocolate, stemless glasses beside an already-opened bottle of wine currently "breathing", smiling wide at the other woman's arrival.
And immediately reaching up to be passed some of the goods she's brought to set down in the space between them, adding to the spread. )
Hello, dear; it's good to see you. How has your day been?
Konoha smiles and waves in greeting, gratefully handing over the little plastic containers she'd brought her snacks in, marveling one last time about how convenient the "tooper wares" were. So easy to wash??]
Really good! We actually found a spring near the edge of the property this morning, and our neighbor said they don't mind if we enlarge it a bit... I think it will be really useful if we can...
[... Wait, was farm talk boring?]
H- How about you? You must be so busy!
[With all the Moonblessed... they probably preferred Moonblessed doctors, right?]
( It's just the touch of a perfectionist, don't worry!! Angela adds her containers to the spread after getting the lids off and resting the containers atop them so they still matched up, particularly seeming to smile at the noseful of roasted nuts she gets a whiff of.
She's happily listening to her description as she goes until she cuts herself off abruptly, and then her eyes widen just a fraction when she picks up on the self-consciousness of it. So she gives a little dismissive wave and asks again. )
No no, please finish— are you going to do an irrigation system for planting, or build a well? That sounds lovely. I only have a few patients a day and I shouldn't really speak of them, but needless to say my day was just fine.
( She is correct, however, that Angela's patients are all there because a fellow Moonblessed doctor is a far more welcome prospect. It's easier to trust her and she keeps the clinic welcoming and warm. )
[There's a moment when Konoha just blinks in confusion, wondering why she shouldn't speak about her day, before... She blushes. Oh. Yeah. Privacy... Which... she of all people should obviously understand the desire for.]
Oh, um- No, I already put the irrigation in, it would be for bathing!
[Not wanting to get Angela's blanket dirty, Konoha knocks her hooves on the ground to try and shake out dirt, but... she hadn't thought to bring a pick with her, and she's been working all day, so. With a bit of an awkward look back at her coat, regretting not actually taking advantage of that spring before coming by, she instead opts for circling a spot next to the blanket and laboring down to her side there instead.
She could still reach the food, it's fine.]
Do you not have hot springs in your country?
[She has to ask... You never knew... Angela had said she knew about Japan, but. She wasn't Japanese.]
( Yes darling, she won't go gossiping about how cute it was to teach a centaur sex ed, neither will she tell anyone about the lube adventures. Doctor-patient confidentiality at its finest no matter how charmed she was.
When she debates the blanket and avoids sitting quite near it, Angela just laughs under her breath and pushes all the fixings closer to her so she can scoot in herself, inching back into her space. She wouldn't have minded or she wouldn't have brought it out to lay on the grass. )
Oh! That sort of a spring; it sounds like you found the perfect plot of land for all you could possibly need. Is it warmed, at all, or is it a cool spring?
We did not have natural hot springs in the country I came from which is really quite small, but they did create manmade versions called "thermal baths" in the mountains, much the same as the hot springs found naturally in Japan. Then there are saunas in some of the neighboring countries further to the north filled with steam instead of water that are very relaxing and purifying. The Alps themselves do not have much surface activity at all to provide the same heat sources, you see.
( And so Angie scoops up that opened wine bottle and goes to pour a slip in one glass, coming out a nice dark red before handing it to Konoha to try. )
Edited (my dumbass forgot the dranks portion of the dranks thread) 2019-10-27 11:09 (UTC)
[So the "future" could just make hot springs? One day she'd stop being surprised by these sorts of things, but for now... It' still impressive. Even if she doesn't know how exactly hot springs happen beyond "sometimes they come from the earth".
So she takes the drink!]
Mm, we were really lucky. Well- I mean, we had a lot of help. We worked for other farms first when we were saving money, so Gonta's boss agreed to loan us this patch of land, and my boss helped us with all the paperwork, as long as we agreed to come by and, you know. Chroma up their farms every now and then.
[... She hopes that means just maybe a night cuddling in their fields rather than. Actually mating in their fields. That would be weird.
So she... sniffs the drink!!]
It does kind of smell like grapes, huh...
[And drinks the drink... ! Oh... Definitely not sake. Give her a second, she's not sure yet.]
( Yes, thank goodness for electricity, right? The glass is handed over easily and Angela swirls her own around to keep the tannins from settling with an idle rock of her wrist, bringing it to her nose after a few moments and taking her own sip first, then reaches for a bit of cheese to nibble on. )
I'm glad you've had others looking out for you and giving you a chance, here; that sounds like a perfect arrangement to get settled without costing too much money.
This is made with red grapes, and they're allowed to ferment to bring the alcohol out. Usually in wooden barrels for a bit more flavor, as well. My friend did quite wonderfully making this.
( But she watches Konoha take her first sip and her nose crinkles with her amusement when it gives her pause, before outright giggling into her hand. )
It takes a bit of getting used to; not everyone likes the fermented taste with the sweetness of the grapes. Here, eat a little something after.
[What if she'd looked incredibly rude to Angela's friend just now? Konoha whips her head about in a quick shake, large bun on her head bobbling along as she tries to both... mimic how the other woman swirled the glass around (because surely that had a reason?) and protest with her other hand.]
It's not bad! I've just never had anything like it before- I've not even eaten a lot of grapes!
[On account of the whole... them not being actually cultivated in her country in the Edo period. Sure, there were what they called "mountain grapes" but. Little does she know... Those aren't actually grapes.
So she tries to cover for herself by reaching for the nearsest thing to nibble on, which happens to also be cheese.
... Which is another entirely new flavor.
But.
Wow, she likes this one??? No consideration required. Let her just. Grab another one of those.]
It's all right, truly. It isn't to everyone's taste. I find it palatable but it wouldn't be my first choice either if someone asked what I'd like to drink. And sake isn't often this sweet either.
( But at least she seems to like the cheese! Angela plucks a couple grapes off one of the clusters she'd brought and offers it to her, now, after her second piece of cheese. )
These ones are what the wine was made from; and these green ones here are going to be his next batch, I believe. It won't be as rich.
But regardless. How are those lessons coming along?
( The saucy ones they'd discussed. With lube. Don't choke!! She's careful to ask only after she swallows and before she reaches for anything else because she expects her embarrassment to crop right up. )
Konoha is torn between the newly discovered cheese and grapes that are far plumper and rounded than the mountain vine variety she's used to, popping a few in her mouth as she listens and nods along, then tries the cheese and he grapes, and... okay, that was a mistake, but.
It's a good thing Angela times her question well, because Konoha does flush a bit obviously near immediately, averting her gaze with a stutter.]
Oh, um. "Lessons", yes. Lessons.
[But though she looks embarrassed, legs tucking a bit closer to her belly and tail swishing a bit beneath her skirt, squirming a bit unconsciously... she also looks. Is that "pleased with herself"? (It's more like "recalling a few sexual encounters she's had since she spoke with Angela about her concerns that had involved her first experiences with lubrication and discovery of the female orgasm.)
It... It's just talking with another woman! They aren't at the clinic, even, they're sharing a meal and just talking so- She can do this!]
I- I have to thank you. I think they're doing... really good.
[Just let her nibble on another grape, sharp canines that didn't quite match her human or equine traits piercing the small fruit as she mumbles a bit quietly, the words a bit hard to pick out. "Really, really good."]
( She's never quite tried any of these things, has she? It's endearing to watch her try the variety of foods she's brought along, much as Angela reaches for one of the roasted ginkgo nuts to nibble at herself before debating the squid. That might be a bit beyond her typical palate, for fair play. But she'll still try it.
It's what's between her fingers as she times her question and watches Konoha flush darker, at least understanding the train of conversation after the abrupt turn. And though she curls up a bit "smaller", (hah), she does look rather pleased, doesn't she? )
I'm quite relieved to hear it; I was so afraid I'd overloaded you. Your husband took to the new adventure, then?
( Yes, it's just lady talk, two ladies doing lady things!! Even if one of them is half-horse and the other looks perpetually 25 because of healing technology, you know... Lady Stuff... She seems pleased to be broaching the subject, anyway. She thought it might be easier this way. Something more casual. )
[She almost denies it, but Konoha certainly can’t even begin to pretend that she hadn’t felt super overloaded with new and confusing information after meeting with angela at the clinic... so she just rolls with it. It had been a lot.
And this cheese stuff was really tasty, she’s just going to... sneak another bite in between blushes.]
I think he liked it even more than I did...
[She wants to cover her red cheeks like she had before, but now her hands are full of wine and snacks, what treachery...]
I- I didn’t even know it could feel that good. I thought it was... mostly just... more the men, you know...
It sounds like you have a very loving husband that cares for you very much, or he wouldn't have enjoyed pleasing you nearly so much.
( It's an easy observation to make, but truly, she's lucky; it's not often to find people so selfless and devoted to another's pleasure. Also, goodness, what a shame!! It's almost like keeping her occupied and her hands full was planned...
(It most certainly was.)
Angela takes another swallow of her wine and another bit of cheese for herself before trying the squid, starting from the pointed tip instead of the tentacles. Chewy! But all in all not bad. )
I tried to explain as much; that it could be significantly better. Everyone deserves to feel that good. May I ask...? What it was he did?
[Her anatomy might not be the same, there were differences in biology that made certain angles of movement poses impossible, but Konoha had grown up around humans, and her body language was far less equine by comparison than her wilder brethren, or even her husband. Just as a human might squeeze their thighs and knees together, squirm in a bit of a mix between embarrassment and titillation, she manages to recreate the same effect with forelegs- something learned by watching more than natural, seeing as her more natural reaction was a whisky tail, but.
It makes her incredibly easy to read either way as she nods in agreement that her husband was the most good and the most loving and she was the most lucky. As she struggles, and manages, to answer, eventually, by speaking more into the wine glass than the air.]
His... mouth...
[Angela’s tip on that had certainly paid off, she was a... big fan. Yup. That was nice, definitely nice, she can tell this wine (and Angela!!!!) all about it.]
And we tried doing it, um... like humans do...
[Which had been... a bit of a relief for her back, a sudden realization that while mounting was the far more natural position for them... the size difference meant that she had to focus so much on bearing his weight that it became more difficult to focus on the pleasure. Without that to worry about, plus more face-to-face contact and ability to touch...
Her cheeks are bright red, but despite the mumble and halting start... it’s... kind of exciting to... say out loud... oh no...]
( Angela's fascinated watching her every moment they meet, really, hopelessly endeared to the way her forelegs press together demurely and fold before her as the topic comes up and the chance to gossip just a tad seems terribly appealing. Easy to read, yes, but very cute.
When the answer finally comes, color her surprised (pleasantly so). )
See? With the way you'd described him caring for you, I knew it'd be an easy suggestion. I'm glad he took to it. When you say "like humans do", do you mean you laid down...? Or you were on your back? Regardless, if the angle was more comfortable, I'm very glad it worked for you both.
( Angela "Everyone Deserves To Orgasm" Ziegler takes another sip of her wine and nods, nibbling on more of the dried squid. Not quite a wine pairing, but she likes it regardless. )
[Angela just reacts like talking about these things is so normal that... it kind of makes it easier, even if her cheeks are still bright red, forelegs rubbing together fit enough to start a small fire.]
On my back...
[Okay, but she can't do this with both her hands full, she's got to at least slap one palm to her cheek, so she pops the cheese in her mouth to mumble around in order to facilitate this very necessary action.]
And since it was nice to not have to support all that weight, I found a really nice tree with low branches, and that made doing it normal... also nicer...
[So maybe she should have realized that one key to feeling good was eliminating the obvious negatives to her and her husband's very dramatic size difference, but... she's somehow pretty impressed with the realization that getting a literal ton in weight off her backside had helped her focus on much more pleasurable things.
Just going to gulp some more of that wine down, though.]
I probably should have asked sooner, huh? You know a lot...
[Which she just says normally until realizing a bit later that it might could sound like she just called Angela a loose woman??]
( Well, by her time, it is fairly normal to gossip with trusted friends, sometimes. Not everyone had the heart for it even still, of course. But she's glad Konoha sees fit to share with her even if only in the name of advice. But the admission followed by her popping cheese in her mouth just to cover her face has Angela giggling and reaching to press her fingertips to her raised forearm, assuaging. )
I'm very glad it opened new avenues for you both and that you were able to enjoy yourself. I know it's a natural imperative, but it should still be fun, that sort of intimacy. And it should still feel nice. They're one of the most sensitive areas on one's entire body for a reason.
And I'm also pleased to see you're enjoying the cheese! It's a common dietary addition in my country. Dairy products in general are very popular from all the cows and goats in the countrysides.
( When Konoha's hastily amending her statement of asking sooner with good intentions, however, Angela's visibly confused (and amused) with a tip of her head, before finally realizing what she thought she was implying a few moments after. )
—Oh! No, it's quite all right. You certainly could have and it might have spared you some grief, but it still took a lot of courage, you know. You did things at your own pace, and there is nothing wrong with that. nor is there anything wrong with complimenting what I know of the subject. I won't deny my own personal experiences supplementing my anatomical knowledge. I'm not capable of having children as my body is, right now, and I was also not capable of maintaining a steady relationship with my work back home. I was always in danger and wouldn't want to subject anyone to that with me. It made for frequent encounters with others whenever I was lonely.
[There's a lot of things Konoha thinks to say next. Something about cheese, which was apparently made from milk, which... alright, she'll believe it... Or something about sex, which was... very titillating, actually, and it kind of makes her think she might be able to ask another question or two...
But it all just falls away in favor of,]
You... can't have children?
[A second after it leaves her mouth she regrets it, wants to take it back- sure, Angela had said it so casually, but what if it was actually a hurting thing? And how could it not be a hurting thing? Konoha was old-fashioned enough in her values to have trouble imagining any woman being alright with that... she had been checking her sides in the mirror almost every day since she'd first slept with Gonta, hoping to see a rounding, any sort of proof that something might be quickening... even though nothing seemed to be.]
( The concern was immediately visible on the other woman's face to her offhand mention, and Angela's quick to try and soothe her and reach for her nearest hand, arm, whatever she could touch. )
Oh, it's all right, Konoha— it isn't anything permanent, I assure you. The very same machines that allow me to heal are what help keep things like infections and sickness away. They just also happen to prevent foreign objects from taking. Like a man's seed.
And like I said, that was for the best. I couldn't have sustained a family in a safe environment with the dangerous nature of my work. If I ever change my mind, I can remove them, if need be.
Though I'm getting a bit too old to safely carry a child as it stands. And this place has also resulted in our further sterility, it seems. I didn't mean to startle you. It can be a good thing, I assure you.

"Fruity" sounds kind of nice.... I don't suppose you have... a lot of it? Or- it's not expensive, is it?
[She doesn't want to drink all your fancy drink...]
It's definitely easier for me to do it that way, so... picnic, please! Should I make anything specific to go with, uh, "wine"?

[She wants to cover her red cheeks like she had before, but now her hands are full of wine and snacks, what treachery...]
I- I didn’t even know it could feel that good. I thought it was... mostly just... more the men, you know...
[Enjoying themselves that much. Orgasm much.]

Her cheeks are bright red, but despite the mumble and halting start... it’s... kind of exciting to... say out loud... oh no...]

Not quite a wine pairing, but she likes it regardless. )
Did it give you any other ideas to try?

I mean- In the good, knowledgeable way!
